Funny that you mention this because I was mouthing off in another thread about Discover:

Whoever runs Discover should be shot. One of our cards was stolen out of the mail. It was then used at a bank in Conneticut for a cash advance of $3500. The bank is to blame since the information should have been flagged by any moron. Virginia phone number, Georgia Address, Conneticut bank. After some long questions with Discover, almost all of them being unanswered, we cancel our cards. A few weeks later we recieve new cards, after that those new cards that are supposed to go on your keyring. So if you lose your keys, someone can then break into your house/steal your car AND be able to make some stolen credit card purchases. The numbers on the cards we kept getting in the mail were the same as the old, which was supposed to be disabled since it was compromised.

Some people, you wonder how they dress themselves in the morning...

The new Discover card advertisement depicting a trauma resuscitation team intentionally delaying emergent treatment to a patient until the patient's Discover card is APPROVED (on the cash register on the trauma room wall) is insulting to ED physicians. It shows us as mercinaries rather than the dedicated and caring professionals that we are. It implies that we treat patients based on their ability to pay rather than treating illness regardless of financial circumstance. I realize that this ad is meant to be humorous, however,if this ad influences even one patient not to seek care due to the implication that prepayment is necessary, then a tragedy will eventually occur. Please join me in protesting this kind of advertising. The phone number for the executive offices of Nathan Hill, President of the Greenwood Trust Company (parent company to the Discover Card) is (302) 328-3300. The address is P.O. Box 17019, Wilmington, DE. 19850. Thank you
