Anyone ever had any experience in owning a bar/restaurant?

These are things I have interest in.

For example to start up a bar what sort of capital does it require? Same with a restaurant.

I know it will of course depend on space, deco, etc. But what about licenses?

On a good night what is the potential for a bar?

I believe it's the most common small business to be opened and to fail, figure out how to developer a business plan and you can answer your own questions, but from personal experience i would say at least 50,000 of you own money and a substantial loan to boot.

my mom started a very very successfull restaurant and after 20 years sold it. I don't know anything about the finances though. but we're wealthy.

I would disagree I found them to be most unreliable, and they'll drink your profits away, and steel your gold, bah
damn leprecants is what we used to call them, damn vile creatures

Naked women usually work too.

Naked women work well until the bikers blow up the joint while you're inside... Leprechauns will cause no such problem although I've heard anecdotal evidence that they pee in your beer when you're not watching

i had a friend try that recently. he went in with 3 other guys. from his experience, i can say this "choose your partners WISELY, or don't have any at all!"

Best of luck and be sure to buy us all one on the house when it happens.
