Anyone ever had a monitor die from Bug/Mildew house treatment?

I had a customer come in today and told me that within 24 hours of his house being sprayed for mildew, both his 37" HDTV CRT and 21" CRT monitor were dead. They turn on, but no longer display a picture.

Anyone heard of this? Plausible, or coincidence? It was the first time I've ever heard something like this.

I don't work for the mildew spraying company, I just merely heard this story from a regular that comes by my job from time to time.
 
Some years ago, our office was sprayed for bugs.

We had to vacate the premises, and when we came back, the computer monitors survived just fine.

Insurance scam ? i think they're trying to rip you off... unless the place was spray sooo damp...

 
Any legitimate company that comes in and sprays for bugs and or mildew will give the owner instructions beforehand to remove all dishes and cover all electronics and move them away from the wall.

Either the owner ignored the instructions or more likely went with an unlicensed person or company to do the spraying. In either case, he has no recourse against the seller or manufacturer of the monitors.

This customer isn't bringing in those items for me to work on, he's just someone that comes in every now and then and most of the time he'll share a couple stories or so, this being one of them. Nice guy.

Are you in the spraying business ? I had damaged from moisture.. but this was a storage room warehouse where the AC broke and all the lcd monitor had weird spots develop on it.. even new lcd sitting in a box.. spots develop.. ill take a pic when i get home.... also the LCD on our phones.. they all went bad.. 100 of them in boxes.. but this was extreme moisture..
