Anyone ever get their rims powder-coated?

There's a set of rims I really want, but they don't come in a color that will go with my car. I was looking at them today and the guy at the store said I could have them powder coated the color I wanted them. Has anyone ever done this before? I'm mostly looking for price (they wanted $60 a rim), and for durability - does the powder coating last long? I'm not too sure if anyone around here has done this or knows someone who has - but any input would be helpful, thanks!

Powder coating is pretty damn strong. It can chip- but i would say its at least as strong as paint. Have you seen a Lian Li case?- they are powder coated

if they are aluminum, its possible for you to anodize them.

It's red, but all the trim (decals, moulding striping) is a matte-gold. The stock rims are gold, so I'd like to replace them with something of the same color.

well its possible to get a gold plating ($$$ i think), but i do believe the is a gold like anodizing. theres always black chrome too. black/red/gold go thogether rather well, IMO

As long as it's not from you and the price is right....
