Had my pocket picked once...and I was holding my hand over my pocket the whole time. I still don't know how they pulled it off.

I had gas siphoned once...but that was out of the company van, so I didn't care 😛

I have been fortunate, not that many minorities live near me.

lol, we're gonna get in trouble pretty soon.

Not so much because we're doing something wrong, but because we're a couple of inner city black kids who are each in 3 gangs and like to rape white women while eating fried chicken & watermelon, all the while collecting welfare for our baby's mommas.

my ex-roommate's g/f stole about $15 in quarters off of me. I inquired. They denied it. I found evidence. His PS2 is now mine. 😛

3)Gas Syphoned a few times

how did you know that it was syphoned?

well, I bet he noticed it was siphoned when the gas gauge seemed to have gotten significantly lower overnight.

but you're a cop...does that mean you have to beat yourself down? 😕

When I lived in ghetto part of Oakland (Alcatraz ave between Telegraph & Shattuck) I had a couple of close calls and burglaries. Never been robbed though.

- all the bikes from my house have been stolen. People parked them on the first floor by the stairs chaining by the front wheel. I always carried mine on the thrid floor where I lived and chained by the frame. It was a pain in the ass to carry the bike (cheap heavy steel!) up the narrow staircase, but I always did. Well, one morning I walk down the stairs, and there are only front wheels left.

- 2 apartments have been burglarized in my house. Two apts under me and one across me. Took laptops, clothes and smth else. I was spared because I always used deadbolt. People in those apts didn't. Just the regular slip-lock (or whatever it's called)

- Someone took a $60 stereo plate from my piece of crap car. Luckily, they didn't break the window. A 5-year old could open that car (Dodge Colt 89). They couldn't extract the stereo itself though.

- My last semester in UCB, someone took the rear wheel from my piece of crap bike and the LED taillight. I couldn't help but laugh: I walk out of the lab at 3 AM, and my bike is missing a rear wheel. Cheap, steel rear wheel. Can't imagine why would anyone go through the trouble of messing with dirty oily lugs and carry a wrench just to get that stupid wheel. Walking home the length of Telegraph was not that much fun though. I was pissed.

Oh, and once I was attacked by a bunch of black gangstaz: I was coming home from a city looking for a spot to park a car on the streets around the house, and one of the guys crossing the street decided to take a swing at my side window. The window held up, and I decided not to take my chances against five of them, so I drove away.

I suppose it would if I was actually a minority...

*Beware! Minority suspect* *Look, he's got a gun*

A couple of black guys jumped a friend and myself in a part of Toronto that really was supposed to be more upscale than that. 😛 Strangely before leaving his place we had left our watches and wallets behind, so after some talk everyone left the scene happy.
