Anyone ever get a response/interview from a job site?

Over the years my wife and I have probably applied to... 150? jobs via indeed, career builder etc. and I can't remember either of us getting a single response.

All 3 of my IT jobs since college have been through temp agencies, 2 of which went full time and both of hers have been temp, including her current.

Both of our resumes are at least good, maybe not google/facebook all stars but certainly worth at least looking at (her two major car companies me higher ed and healthcare).

We still get non-stop calls and emails from various temp agencies about usual crappy to decent job opportunities and have also gotten interviews/responses via directly applying on company websites. However, not even a 'denied' response from any of the popular job sites even for jobs that seem like ideal matches.

I'm not complaining about our current situation and I'm not even looking atm, but i'd like to know if anyone has ever actually applied through indeed --> interview --> job offer. Are they just a waste of time?

I’ve gotten responses via indeed in the past and primarily linked in now. People actively reach out to me on LinkedIn on Avery regular basis (mostly headhunters, but it is also common to get inquiries from talent management in company HR departments). Have you tried LinkedIn?

I've gotten interview requests through indeed but, months after I expressed interest in a specific job. I've often had no reply for 6 months when applying for a job in education though.

I haven't had to job search since initially landing a job while graduating college, but get a recruiter call or email every couple months. Have had a few turn into interviews without any work on my end which is nice. Nothing has been a perfect fit for me though so no offers.

Probably right. I doubt I'd get along well with corporate culture. I'm back doing what I always did for the same company I was always at. When I got laid off, I was trying to get into IT. I don't have much to put on a resume though aside from "I fuck around with computers", but I know I'm qualified for entry level crap, and I don't need much money. Xerox was the only place to reply. The more I read around, the less certain I was I wanted to get into IT. Seems like never ending bullshit, and idiots all around. I was getting mild panic attacks thinking about actually landing one of the jobs I applied for.

It's all worked out now. Just need to get some supplemental income, cause this company won't be around forever, and I'm not interested in doing this stuff for anyone else, with the possible exception of working directly for my favorite client. I'd rather just retire though.
