i sent a package using their media mail service (7-10 days) and with delievery confirmation on April 22.
When I track down the confirmation number, it says its at a processing center. Its been at the same processing center since April 23. I think its lost.

I understand that I will not get money for the value of the item shipped (since I didnt pay extra to insure it), but what about a refund on the shipping fees that I paid for it? Isnt it reasonable to get a refund for a service they didnt complete?

wuddyah all think....

Nope, you wont get anything back, not a dime!

However, I think you're jumping the gun here. Like h*ll media mail is 7-10 days! Even priority mail often takes longer than that. More like 1-2 months is what you need to expect from this class of service. It sits at the processing center as it's treated like dirt. USPS employees hate media mail as it's a big money loser and will let it take forever to get delivered.

One time I shipped something to Canada and they didn't include a customs form with the package and it came back. I b!tched at them and they shipped it again for free.

That's because Express Mail has built-in insurance _and_ the service is actually guaranteed by a certain date, like FedEx's overnight. The uninsured parcel post is a completely different story.
