I wonder if it is possible to find a way to mirror the gameplay on a desktop machine on a laptop...

yeah they have little boxes and software for that. But you almost never get the same resolution at the same frame rate.

USB monitors are not very good. Not enough bandwidth. Just get a Vita or 3DS is you really want to game away for bed. Or buy a Shield or gaming laptop.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're trying to do.....but why not just duplicate the display and run another HDMI cable to your "bed" monitor?

I already have a laptop. Don't already have an extra monitor. I was looking into Nvidia Shield. Looks interesting, but then I realized that there's no reason why you can't do this with a laptop.

Splashtop works OK for that, and it's free for PC-PC I think...

or you can get a Nvidia Shield.
