Anyone Ever Fix Their Monitor (or get poked)?

I just had a 17in go bad. It works fine for about 10 minutes, then starts flickering on and off. I allow it to cool, and it works for another 10 minutes. Any suggestions to fix it? I love to tinker.
 
You have to be extremely careful with monitors. They carry a charge that can bounce you right across the room. These days, when you can find 17-inch monitors for less than $150, I'd play it safe and redirect those tinkering instincts.
