My usual drinking buddies couldnt make the saint paddys celebration so I had to do it alone. What ever.

Thank god I have a wide variety of drinks to choose from.
 
I do because some foods taste better with it. Plus if you get really wasted and watch Wild On, it feels like you are actually in Ibiza.

I'll have a beer by myself, or a shot of brandy, nothing wrong with that..

I don't get pissed by myself though.
 
as drinking alone in a bar or at home?

at home I do that quite often ( I am sure many do that too, some wine with the meal, some beer during the game)

I get quite uncomfortable if I drink alone at a bar; but I don't mind doing it to burn time while I am waiting to meet up with someone else.

My st. patty's day sucked... Whitney drove off w/ my alchohol, and everyone else was too poor to buy some, the parties that were supposed to be happening weren't, and everyone ended up sober...

Then I get back to my dorm room and my farking room mate is a slob and a half, so I had to pick up after his butt because I can't stand to live in a messy condition.
 
At home: no, but it's not too bad so long as you don't get wasted by yourself.

Out: definitely not, regardless of the situation.

Drinking alone has always been, to me, the "taboo" sign of alcoholism. Besides, I don't enjoy the taste of alcohol in general, and so drinking it by myself doesn't tend to serve any purpose. Tonight was quite fun though, I must say. My magically-elastic tab of $29 bought my friends and I quite a bit. Hoorah for college towns.
 
I'll have a beer to wash down dinner, but I won't just drink by myself to get wasted.

Actually, if there was a alcohol free beer in the brand that I drink that didn't taste like garbage, I'd probably drink it. It's more the taste, not the alcohol for me.

Of course, I enjoy it. Since I live with my g/f when ever I am alone I will pop a cold one and play vids or watch anything I want.

Not drinking alone is a reasonable way to avoid becoming one. I told myself when I had my first sip of beer that I would never drink alone, because it seemed to me that it would be difficult to become an alcholic if you stuck to that policy.

I got the idea from watching my father became an alcoholic. He drank alone constantly.
