Anyone ever do this? "Rip off" a buffet/dining hall?

So at my school, to eat in the dining halls during breakfast costs $4.75 if you don't have a meal plan..and $7.50 for lunch. Obviously the offerings for lunch are better..as far as cafeteria food goes at least..but a good deal more expensive.

The plan is then, to come in at around 10:50, since breakfast ends at 11..pay for breakfast, but each lunch items.

OMG that's the most clever thing i've ever heard!!!

At my university, all meals cost the same and there was a 30 minute break between meals during which they forced you out of the room. So no it wasn't possible.

I knew the manager so I got all my meals free. I used to go in at the end of the semester and load up on cases of Mt dew and other snack foods for the next semester with all my unused points.

I remember seeing people steal cereal and stuff at my old school's cafeteria.

yes that'll be us...... you know we also steal milk, silverware, plates.....

At UM they have door monitors who watch the exits for people stealing food and dishes. One time, the dining area was packed during dinner, and they had to call the cops because they found a kid walking out with his sweatshirt and pockets stuffed full of bagels. I honestly don't think I've EVER laughed so hard in my life. 🙂

I ripped off your mom...
paid the 20 bucks that she charges for a BJ and got her drunk so I di it to her :Q

...Napkin dispensers, salt & pepper shakers, trays...

Towards the end of the semester, they'd have an "Amnesty Day" where you could return all of the "borrowed" utensils with no questions/punishment. Good times, good times.

Yup, same here...only it was amnesty MONTH. They set out a box in every lounge in the dorm for "liberated dining hall dishes." 😀

Heh, no they closed for 30 mins in between meals.

But you'd see people with big tupperware containers filling up cereal. One friend of mine had a 1 litre jug that he wrote "Milk Smuggling Container" on the side in big letters, and would fill it up at meals.

No need; I have sufficient enough respect on the buffet circuit that I need never pay for my meals. In Japan I am known as "Monster with Many Mouths".

In a somewhat related note, if I were homeless I would beg for just enough cash to get a meal at a buffet joint. Then when I'm done with my meal I'd find somewhere to sleep, such as the bathroom or conference room. Then when I awake I head back to the buffet! Two meals and a nap for the price of one meal...I've got all my bases covered. 😀

most of the dorms at UCLA would close for at least half an hour in between breakfast and lunch.

and then they'd close for two or three hours between lunch and dinner.
