Anyone ever do the EVGA step up program?

I read the FAQ and everything else related to the program but would like to hear from the people who have actually done it. My cousin wants to step up from his EVGA 6800NU AGP8x. Anyone have bad experiences with this program (ie EVGA sends you DOA card)?

You must register your card
Apply for Step up... cannot pass 3 months
Have proof or invoice

They WILL not send you a refurb... Step Up cards are new from the EVGA store
