Hey Tominator,
My dad bought a new '86 Celebrity (what was he thinking??

) and from the beginning we had to repeatedly take it back for dangerously fading brakes. My dad almost got rid of it under lemon laws. It turns out the design engineers had to cut costs and they used the brakes from one of GM's compact car lines (I still cannot believe my dad figured that out --he knows his stuff). My dad finally got GM to order the dealer to replace the entire set, front and rear (with the brakes from the Celebrity Sport, IIRC). After that the car was just another run-of-the-mill American sedan... unspectacular and blehh. Eventually I, my sister, and my brother used that car to learn to drive and get around in during high school. My brother managed to wreck it twice and total it. It held up well given the wrecks it was in. So much for the nostalgia.
Oh yeah, I never dated a celebrity, but I did date a Colonel's daughter most of my senior year... not bad for an enlisted man's kid
