Anyone ever considered starting thier own DC project?

I know it'd be a lot more work, and it'd take at least a few talented people to bring it together, but it sounds really interesting to me. Moreso than just letting a program run in the background on my machine.
Even if you haven't considered it before, what do you think would be good ideas? What would you like to see a DC project do?

I think that most top-of-the-line rendering packages include a standalone rendering client, although I'm not really sure of the license terms of it.

I'm about to start with a new study called Bio-informatics.. So then I might have some data to be analyzed...
But for now, if anyone wanted to start something, I'm willing to help.. I can offer lots of bandwith and HD space 🙂

I helped BETA test a friend's DC project working on prime factors. He had a proxy and client and server. Needed a web developer for stats, and ran into some roadblocks. 🙂

I've heard that he's since redesigned the whole thing, and is working on redoing the project, but it's still in the paper design phase right now. 🙂

There is actually an internet rendering project, but its not doing anything at the moment (as far as I know).

Yeah, I have thought about having a project to do xxxxxxx over the internet, but my lack of programming ability coupled with my lack of maths in the necessary field sort of kills the idea.
