Anyone ever considered, in a fit of rage, clearing computers from your life?

I know I've been guilty of it a couple times ... just cursing like a drunken sailor and coming awfully close to the point of hocking all my parts and using the cash for some other hobby.

But they're such a damned useful communications tool.

Yes, but not because of failed hard drives. But then I think to myself "Hey, you suck at everything else in life, do you want to be flipping burgers?" and change my mind

Nope.

Though I have strongly considered taking an old beater machine out to the firing range and putting a bunch of .30 holes in it.

No, though I did consider buying a pre-built PC when I upgraded in December '03 instead of building again.

A PC is mostly a tool to me these days. I have given up caring about being cutting edge, knowing everything, and trying to impress anyone as all being too much effort.

But I'd hate to do without my PC for games and the internets (Amazon, Netflix, ATOT, etc.). Without my FLAC music server I'd also have to go back to hunting through boxes, piles, and shelves to find a CD when I want to hear it, and I wouldn't have the tunes to fill up my Zen Xtra.

Sometimes. Then I realize that until we move or I get a car that works, it's my only connection to my friends outside of school.

The parentals are bitches about giving me a ride anywhere.

At least harddrives aren't greasy.

As long as you don't touch them, or rub them against your face, or hair.

Ugh so many times. Sometimes I wonder if the longer hours and carpel tunnel is worth it.
