Anyone ever been to Vietnam?

I'm looking for some authentic feedback, preferably from guys who are white like me, about visiting Vietnam. I've been to Japan and it was cool...and I've heard that Nam is a "tourist friendly" place to go. Any advice?

Vietnam was great. Got to shoot a bunch of the natives and have my way with their women. Just watch out for the kids selling ice. Some time they are strapped. With C4.

yea, it's tourist friendly alright. just bring your m16 and watch out for VC.

dammit olds beat me to it.

I was coming in here to post something similar even though I was only 12 when we finally left that shit hole.

Hell yes. Travel to strange exotic places, meet new people of different cultures, and kill them.
I just can't think of a better way to spend a vacation.

It was quite the "tourist mecca" the last time I was there. Lots and lots of rock-n-roll...full auto style.

in all seriousness it's was a great place to visit. The people are very friendly, ladies are real friendly, some places are very modern now. It's a must visit IMO. Midnight the lights are still out and the capital and surrounding area is still buzzing. But I always like the crowded, bright lights past midnight feeling.

I doubt I'll get "up to date" info from war vets who probably loathe that place, and I have no plans to go to northern VN where the commies roam.
