Some really good fares right now and I'm thinking about going Turks, St. Lucia, or, St. Kitts/Nevis.....

i'm a little taken aback by the food and lodging costs though...
Any general info on traveling to any of the above areas on a budget would be nice....
I guess I could always stay at the club med and do the all-inclusive deal $$$...but if I'm going to the turks I'm going to either get Padi certified their or ahead of time and do some diving...

I guess, I can't lose either way but some advice on how others have done it is always helpful...

Been there a few times. VERY laid back, the most laid back of any spot in the Caribbean that I have been to. It's not nearly commercialized as any of the common spots.

Keep in mind that the islands are really flat, though, if mountains are your thing.

EDIT: BTW, awesome snorkeling/scuba, as you are probably aware.

I have heard Provo is a scuba divers paradise.
Safe group of islands, and very pretty.

It's wierd that you say that because alot of people have been telling me it is becoming overcommercialized....condo central etc..makes me feel alittle better getting the word form the horses mouth so to speak....I do like beaches and mountains (been to Hawaii 9 times) and need something different...I can get an airfare from the midwest for $300 All in right now(super cheap)...any nice places to stay that you would reccomend for around $100-$125 a night for a week? Should I look for a place to rent out for the week...Or is my price totally unrealistic for the Turks...?
Premptive thanks for the help...

Not really bitchy about the price...just want value for my money...

This is Grand Turk how I remember it.

I would be flying into Provo, how much is it to fly from there to Grand Turk? It seems you think the same as others I've talked to about it being a much better place to go over provo?

Provo is more commercialized than Grand Turk. Hell, Grand Turk only has 2 or 3 hotels, though a resort was being built last time I was there. But, even Provo is less than any of the Hawaiian islands, save Molokai.

On the other hand, it take only a 6 hour day to get a pretty indepth look at Grand Turk.
