If so, what can I expect overall in terms off....(during the summer)

Weather
People
Living Costs
Crime
etc....add whatever else you feel is pertinent please.

Thanks.

Not Bolivia, but Ecuador.

Weather should be pretty nice. Bolivia is near the equator, but it's high elevation, which means temperatures probably in the 70's and sunny all summer long.

People are dirt poor-Bolivia is one of the poorest countries. Just don't go waving your filthy beloved patriot money around, and they should be pretty nice.

Living costs-so much lower than the US it's not even a factor. Mind you, I don't know what their economy has been doing recently, Ecuador USED to be super-cheap then we had the economic crisis, dollarization, and had a bunch of presidents flee the country. Oh yeah, and the coup and the volcano. I had a very INTERESTING senior year in high school😉

Crime should be mostly crimes of opportunity-meaning don't leave your camera in plain view, and whatever you do DON'T carry a wallet. Get a money bag or something you can be SURE won't be pickpocketed, since they are very good. Violent crime shouldn't be a problem (one of the advantages of being bigger than the locals), but don't go through the bad part of town at night, either.
