priceline got us $120/night for the Radisson. This was in September so price varies by season. Beautiful place. I think that's an avg price for the "resort" rated hotels. I think the deciding factor should be location... south vs. east or north. South is where a whole chain of hotels are as well as the majority of the beaches. Radisson was east and very central to everything, which was great for us.Originally posted by: rnmcd
So how much does lodging range in Kauai?
I don't need a great view from my room nor do I need to be right next to the beach. I don't plan on spending much time at the hotel.
Don't pass up the macaroons there! Best I've ever had. :thumbsup:Originally posted by: ChunkyChunks
Been there. It's by far the most beautiful island, IMHO. My faves are Kauai and Maui. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Kauai, and it was really nice. It's close to Koloa Town, and they have a a great Italian Pizzeria place and ice cream shop.

My wife and I stayed in Kauai at a psuedo bed and breakfast. It was actually some family's spare room but had full bath and kitchenette in it. Was awesome for just $350 for the week. We were about 5 minutes walking distance from the beach too. We traveled up and down the island, did a helicopter tour (highly recommended), and went to the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. We probably won't go back to that island again though, little too laid back and not much to do. We love the Big Island, but probably will hit up Maui the next time we go.
