Korean is good, never been to an actual restaurant, but I have a lot of asian friends.

Kim-chi is a popular favorite, most of the rest you could be hard pressed to determine if you are eating chinese or japanese, etc.

I need to find out more about the bbq stuff

Philipino food is awesome too. Once every few months or so my wife makes a feast of philipino feast of pancit, lumpia, putu, and philipino kebabs. OMFG is it good!! :p

Btw, she learned to cook all this from my sister-in-law who is herself a native philipina.

Being asian, I have to disagree with everybody here. Korean food in general is just not good, it's not terrible like Japanese food but it's not something to look forward to.

I've only had Korean food a few times in the States and I didn't care for it. However, Korean food in Korea is great...it must be the water (or the kagogi).

When I was in Korea, I had some fantastic food. One "super expensive fancy" type place that was on the side of some mountain that had an incredible view. Then, there were all these little "mom and pop" type places that my cousins knew that were awesome.

Yes, there is.
Koreana on SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy (on the north side between Jameson and Western, just west of the McCormicks and Schmicks). It's small and tucked into a corner, a little hard to find.
There's also a nice Korean BBQ place (forget the name) on SE Powell just west of 82nd.

Japanese food is terrible??

<- loves sushi

Notice how I listed "good" places in my post? =) I dont' know about the Beaverton-hillsday resturant but the one on 82nd and powell isn't that great. BTW, its called "Sul la boo".

? I have Japanese food technically every night.....chicken bowl and curry are two of my favorites now while I am sure there are Japanese dishes I would not like, there are dishes in every ethnic family I would not like.

Since you are asian, are you sure perphaps you are merely surrounded by terrible cooks?

Maybe stick with Panda Express?
