I don't even know where to start with this thread.
You can start by leaving.

No, that be you that is leaving, aren't you running late for your cock fight? Hey dumb ass why don't you read up a bit on cock fighting, you know it's illegal, you condone this. That's bullsh!t.

Read up sherlock.
Cock Fighting FAQ

Cockfights don't happen until night time, sherlock.

You sure about that? Don't act like a douche bag, oh, it's not an act. They can happen anywhere anytime. People will do it regardless, and hopefully, they'll get busted. You play the stupid card real well.
anywhere, anytime, LMAO. Yeah, there are just random cockfights going on all over the place!

How do you know that they don't? You don't. Did I say random? You did. People will do illegal sh!t anytime anywhere to get away with it. Go to your cockfight, loser.
Ok I think I've had enough of your condescending tone. Your opinion on the matter is clear, thanks.....

anyways, oldsmoboat will coem in here stating he reported you to teh police or soemthing.

They aren't pecking at each other. They have spurs (blades, hooks or whatever) strapped to their legs and they thrash at each other. It's basically a rooster's version of a sword fight.

From the IL Humane Care for Animals Act, at 510 ILCS 70:

(g) No person shall attend or otherwise patronize any show, exhibition, program, or other activity featuring or otherwise involving a fight between 2 or more animals, or any animal and human, or the intentional killing of any animal for the purposes of sport, wagering or entertainment.

(3) A person convicted of violating subsection (g) of this Section or any rule, regulation, or order of the Department pursuant thereto is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor.

And, it'd be pretty tough to hide behind the whole, "we're just rooster enthusiasts who met to discuss our hobby, and things got out of hand..." defense what with all you've posted here as evidence...

That's just the kind of defense prosecutors love, because it facilitates indignation. It's far too stupid to prevent anyone from being convicted, and it pretty much ensures a harsh sentence.

Sooo many ways to take this but if it related to poultry then its barbaric and inhuman.

Ok, I'm heading to the bar now with some friends. I'll post about the cockfight when I get back probably. It doesn't start until 10 or 11ish. Thanks for the input.

Two of them will walk around in a circle and if the roosters start fighting then they back off because it's too dangerous to intervene. I think this is what makes it legal.

This is akin to puttting a person in an enclosure with venomous snake sooner or later the snake will bite.

Your "this makes it legal" is crap. Tell you what give us the address then about in hour into it, we will call the cops and then we will see how "legal" it is.

Funny how ATOT would call watching chickens kill each other so inhumane and wrong.. but make fun of vegans for thinking slaughtering animals for food is wrong.
Either way, I'm pretty sure the only reason this is illegal is because it involves gambling, which is generally illegal as it screws up people's lives and causes violence.

It's illegal in a lot of places for a reason. Imho, there's nothing "fun" in strapping sharp object to animals and forcing them to kill each other. It's barbaric and cruel.

With all due respect, this is a pretty nakedly stupid post. The prohibition on cockfights has nothing to do with gambling and everything to do with animal cruelty. I think there is a credible argument (though not one I personally believe in) that it's wrong to eat meat, and chicken production is a particularly rough form of commercial meat packaging, but food chickens are, frankly, bred to be food, and are not subjected to gratuitous cruelty and fear. There is a need to produce food, but there's no legitimate reason to have cockfights.

How about you and your buddies fight each other and let the chickens watch.
I don't understand your logic. It's just a bunch of men who are passionate about cocks meeting in a hot environment - who are you to predict what's going to happen?

Let us know if you see George Michael there... I hear he is a big fan of such events...

With all due respect, you're a tard.
Animals fight to the death all the time in nature for mates, just like how animals kill each other all the time in nature for food. Your claims that chickens all the sudden don't go through fear and cruelty is delusional. A livestock factory isn't exactly a resort.. ok maybe it is for kobe beef where they get back massages and beer, but chickens are generally packed skin tight in their own fecal matter for their entire lives where they are stuffed with food to the point where they cannot stand. That's really any less cruel than cockfights. Your claims are as ridiculous as your credibility.
Even the humane society site linked talks about how cockfights cause violence due to gambling. It's not exactly a mystery that it would be banned for that nature considering that even recreational gambling in your home is illegal.
