Anyone ever been demoted at work?

Anyone here ever been demoted at their work? I was just the other day. I work at a small fast food restaurant. For some reason I was demoted from cashier to dining room/bathroom cleaner. I make the same amount per hour but dining room/bathroom cleaning sucks compared to working the cash register. 🙁

You should find out why. Generally if you're demoted it means start looking for another job.

I'm not sure being moved to a different job at a fast food joint counts as a demotion.

If your pay is the same, you were not "officially" demoted. You were just assigned different, although decidedly less pleasant, duties.

Where do you work? I hope it's a newer place that is basically a clean design.

I had my contract placed on probation once for an incredibly lame reason, offered to resign on
the spot, and watched to my great amusement as both my boss and his boss immediately began
to backpedal. I left anyway. 🙂
