A coworker let me borrow season 1 of The Office since I told him the only show I watch is House and 24, one of which is cancelled this season and the other doesn't start back til the 15th so he told me I might enjoy this show. I'm on episode 2 about diversity, pretty hilarious so far.

Does it get better?

It gets better. One of my favorite shows :D
Pity that there aren't anymore due to the writer's strike.

I don't know...I like the UK version better. Steve Carell annoys me too much.

Nope, not everyone enjoys it. The couple UK episodes I've seen were alright, but the US ones just aren't funny to me really. Still, I feel bad for those frustrated with the strike, it's messing up season's of shows I do like and I know it blows.

No...can't stand it. Don't like Steve Carrell, nor (from eht little I watched it) the humor or lack thereof.

It's funny, but nothing like any actual office that I've been to.

Thank God for that.

I'm not so sure... I think that I'd prefer having a dumb boss that actually tries to makes things better and fails in a humorous manner than having several dumb AND lazy bosses who just don't care enough to try.

And yes... Office Space is far more accurate!

I watched the BBC version and I'm now watching the US version.

I thought the BBC version was better because the acting seemed better but I'm laughing more at the US version.

Both are funny but the characters in the BBC version are more believable (besides the Boss guy).

Haven't seen the American version, about the first 4 episodes of the BBC version (I bought the DVD set). Yeah, the boss character annoyed me. I'm gonna get back to it, though. You know, so many DVDs, so little time...

I don't think I've ever watched a show where Ive wanted to actually punch one of the characters. The David Brent is just f-ing annoying as hell! The thing with Dawn and Tim got really annoying too.

Michael Scott does stupid stuff but I just don't care. He's not very believable.

I'm a late comer to The Office. Good stuff. Just saw the episode where Michael asks for a raise, and Dwight pepper sprays Roy. Funny shit.

At the Bachelor Party Ryan asks Michael if the George Foreman he is using to cook the steaks is the same grill and Michael says "Yes, but I cleaned it"

The UK version was freaking brilliant, but the US version just made me feel uncomfortable; maybe I just picked a bad episode to watch.
