Anyone else's Nuvi mysteriously die today?

Ok so on my drive home, I notice a little window popup on the screen about a firmware update. After this little window disappears, the Nuvi powers off (or dies).

I've tried resetting it while plugged in and while unplugged and I have tried connecting it to a USB port on my computer and into a USB charger.

Nothing happens. The thing just won't power on anymore.

I did have all the latest updates installed and do use MSN Direct.

Tried all the different methods of resetting the unit (including a hard reset). The thing won't power on.

are you talking about a GPS device?

never had one that needed a firmware update... map updates, sure.. but never a firmware update.

are you talking about a GPS device?

never had one that needed a firmware update... map updates, sure.. but never a firmware update.

Garmin regularly releases updates for the Nuvis to fix bugs, enhance performance, etc.. Map updates are to update the maps.


A number of others have had their Nuvis die on them today too. Posted on other forums. Thought there would be someone else here too.
