Just wondering if anyone else noticed this as well?

all of the circulars which were sent to my house in the paper yesterday only showed the Xbox price drop..Sony was still Priced at $299 and the GC was Still @ $199

Just thought it was interesting as didn't both Sony and Nintendo lower prices first?

(Circular's seen, Circuit City, Best Buy, and Comp USA)

the funny I'm noticing is the PSOne +LCD screen combo for $199. I swore I read it was supposed to be $149 now (pretty sure I saw it advertised at $149 last week or so, but not anymore).

Oh well I didn't really want it.

Adds can be made months in advance.

It takes time to set them up, assure stock levels, ship rebate forms, print up, ........

It just shows MS had the drop planed the longest

My local Walmart (Orland Hills, IL) has a palletfull of the PS2 and XBox marked $199.94 w/ a rollback sign from $299.96. Very tempting...... :)

My BestBuy Sunday Ad showed that the PS2 was still $299 and the X-Box was $199. If what they say about the X-Box planning out their pricedrop longer...then I guess the PS2 will be most affected by the pricecuts because most major retailers still sell it for $300 and that will make the new-buyers say "Hey I want an X-Box cuz it's cheaper."

Exactly, MS had been planning the drop for almost a month and had notified all retailers and when Sony caught wind they lowered, although they wont be able to get out the ads and tv commercials for roughly 2 weeks.

Ya, this is the same with the ads here in central Kentucky. Only showing the Microsoft price cut. I just chalk that up to Sony playing the catch up game because they are scared the XBOX is gonna take away a little market share, so their decision was made at the split second.
