if we invade iraq these d*mn terrorists will only have more reason to attack us here, suicide bombings, terror attacks etc...
I heard something about security measures today at Chicagos's Airport, against people shooting down planes with Ground -> Air missiles, just the thought makes me sick....
And the point is we will have Russia, China, France, Germany, Syrya against us....and (i think) a bigger number of people opposing the war in general. We will (likely) face terror attacks and all those opposing people and countries will think different about those attacks (like: Well..there you have it...)....in comparison to the 9/11 attacks.
The point is...we will spend money, and lifes will be lost for this war...but will it stop terrorism ? I think NOOOOOOOOO even if i strongly believe that Saddam of course has to be 'eliminated', i dont like crazy dictators. But i dont think the war will do OUR cause any good, rather the opposite....just more reason to hate us.
It's a difficult situation, because on the other hand i do also NOT like the thought people like saddam or the leader in north kora just letting do their things.....the 'best' solution would be Saddam would actually really disarm, but....i dont think this will happen.

If you're not worried about war, then you have a problem. I worry for the safety of my friends and colleagues in theater, and I wish I were there to help. However, I know that they are part of and protected by the finest military that the world has ever seen.
I also know that the Iraqis have no earthly idea what they are facing, and that the storm this time will be faster, more accurate, and more lethal, and that those who choose to oppose us will be annihilated, plain and simple. While there will likely be some fanatics who will fight to the bitter end, I think more wiser sorts will see the futility of fighting and the possibility of ridding themselves of Saddam and will lay down their weapons in the same way they did in '91.
Terrorism still poses an enormous threat, but eliminating this current and future base for terrorist operations and funding will go far to reducing that threat as well. One of the problems people seem to be having is connecting a safe haven and potential money and weapons source with the war on terror. It's all connected, and all needs to be addressed at some point.
It's likely we'll never win the war on terror if that means eliminating it completely, but we can certainly dismantle and destroy the web of Islamic-based terrorists and countries which have used terror to attack the West and who seek to impose Islam on the world's populace.

I'm INCREADIBLY worried. Not about the war, the current US war machine is largely unstoppable. What I fear is the fallout this war will cause in the international sector, and here at home. The US is badly divided on this one, and this time around it isn't just a bunch of hippies opposing the government but a tremendous number of well trained, knowledgable and heavily armed people. I can easily see domestic terrorism rise on this one. And should other nations attempt to sanction the US, well, the $hit will definately hit the fan then. Our only options would be complete isolationism, crawling back with our tails between our legs, or total oblivion.
Since I was an early teenager I could see the similarities between America and other fallen civilizations and I'd hoped the fall would come long after my demise...but the more I see the more I worry that I might have to take an active hand in such destruction as the world has never known.
Yeah, I'd say I'm definately worried. 8-(

I dont feel that this war will increase or significantly decrease potential for terrorist strikes here.
They have already attacked, and will continue to do so No matter what happens with Iraq.
As far as the war is concerned.My biggest hope has always been that the majority of Iraqi's surrender and/or revolt against Saddam.
I simply refuse to believe that the majority of Iraqi citizens like this guy, and want to die for him.
Of course, the amount of casualties is my biggest concern.

You fall into the idiot category with this post. The US will NOT, I repeat, NOT be carpet bombing cities and towns. Will some Civ's die as a result of an errent bomb or two? Yes. Will every precaution be taken so this is minimized? Yes. There is not one country who takes as much care as the US to try to prevent civilian casulties. Where were you guys when the Taliban was butchering civilians? Awfulyl quiet about that. But when a US bomb hits a wedding party that was firing guns in the air, people like you were screaming up and down about how awful the US is.
As far as the Iraqi's rolling over due to bombing, it happened in the first Gulf War. Bombing attacks occured on Iraqi soil, that didn't seem to instill much fighting spirit in the troops. I think having repeated B-52 raids on your position when you are tired and hungry kind of takes the wind out of your sails.
