anyone else wished lcds were more like laptop lcds?

was browsing stores and noticed that laptop screens for some reason looks so much better....it seemed clearer for some reason, and i couldn't really notice the door screen effect....dammit i want one.

is there something wrong with me? or do you guys agree?

Yes, I agree. It doesn't get much nicer than a 15.4 inch WUXGA - that's 1920x1600 pixels on a 15.4 inch screen 🙂

Problem with laptop screens are that its hard to find them with the antireflective hardcoating. Also, many of the high res ones have limited viewing range. Check out the IBM T220 if you like high res without screen-door effect. Same res as apple 30" but on a 22" screen. Also has been out for at least 5 years.

Holy hell!? I know its retail and all but jebus can you actually get one of these at a resonable price even today!? Also what kind of video card can push 3,840 x 2,400 resolution?!

wow that's crazy...

i think i would actually pay the same price for a 17 inch lcd that had the same number of pixels has a 20 inch.

i swear the screen door degrades the quality of lcds by sooo much.

Yes, the price is much less now. That was the price 5 years ago. Now, its more like 3000$. Maybe less. I believe teh Viewsonic 22" LCD with same specs is the same panel. But, I dont like viewsonic as their quality isnt very reliable.
