I go to college in state, so seeing my parents weekly is a regular routine. I don't really have an independence from them since I work for them on the weekends. FAFSA is paying for school right now. I have been working for my parents for 5 years without any pay, putting in full time hours as well as part time hours during school. I asked my parents to just sometime acknowledge that I'm working for free and not to treat me like cheap labor. Well now the poop has hit the fan.
Well they did buy me a laptop for school. A $2300 one at that. Graduation present or college entrance gift, I dunno. I don't receive gifts from them and haven't since I was in elementary school so it's a culmination of gifts not given
I'd send it back if things would get better now. I appreciate the laptop though. I appreciate them taking care of me like this. I appreciate them being good parents for the most part when they're not laying a guilt trip on me. I appreciate the spending money they give me, though I hardly (maybe $5 in 3 months because dorm food is bad) spend it because they do work hard. I work hard too! I'll have a job at the university next semester while working a 16 credit semester. It's not like I'm lazy (well not too much anyways
)The college estimated that I would get a 2.6 for the year, and by no means am I bright young person, but I managed to pull of a 3.28, with no Cs at all. That's better than any high school report card, save my senior year(3.5 unweighted)!
I just wish things were all back to the way they were before I opened my big mouth about wanting to have some days off or getting thanks. Note: I didn't ask for ANY money. Now my parents are making me go see the Uncle that makes fun of me and whose daughters all hate because he was just cruel and often abusive. Seh Bohng Mahnee Pahdoo Sayo!:disgust:
Ah well, sorry for the whine
Just wanna know if there are any others looking forward to school!
Edit: I don't mean to make it seem like they don't give me anything. They give me a hundred dollars to put into an account that they use. I received $500 in graduation gifts, but I couldn't spend it. Had to go towards rebuilding their business
That's why I returned the Digital Elph
