I was watching the biography of Speer, IIRC, who headed the Nazi slave labor effort in the 3rd Reich. From time to time they do put on a great war movie as well :)

history channel and TLC are two of my favorite channels. I find many of the programs on the history channel, although sometimes oscure or boring, to be intensly fascinating and very enjoyable. The footage they obtain is top-notch! I love their war series programs...

whenever I get a chance I do. However, alot of the footage that you see, isnt about what they are talking about.
I remember this one special on WW1, they were talking about how the German's broke through Belgium, and they showed pictures of Germans marching, but NO spikes on their helmets... Damn Kaiser Kopf's...

History's Mysteries is a great show. I watch it as often as I can. I also like History's Lost and Found but not as much.

I don't really know why they call it 'The History Channel' but I have come to the conclusion, after watching over a period of time, it should be called
'The We've Got Lots Of Film About The Second World War Channel'
or
'The We've Got Lots Of Film About The Second World War And The Odd Reel About The First World War Channel'
or
'The We've Got Lots Of Film About The Second World War And The Odd Reel About The First World War Plus A Bit Of Korea With A Large Chunk Of Full Color Vietnam With Lots Of Nice Big Napalm Explosions Channel'
or
'The History But Don't Expect To Get Much Education Here Channel'
or
'The We Show You The Same Bits Of Film Over And Over Again All Mixed Up With Different Titles Channel'
or
'The We Rewrite History To Please Our American Viewers And Nuts To What The Rest Of The World Think Even If It Tends To Stretch The Truth And They Roll About Laughing Channel'
or
'The History Your Having A Laugh This Is Entertainment Channel'

;)

I watch it, but it's a little military-obsessed and sometimes kinda shallow. Still, good stuff lots of the time. They had this weekend a biography of Elizabeth that was particularly enjoyable, though I could live without the reenactors.

Yo,
They should rename The History Channel to "THE HITLER CHANNEL" because they televise an overwhelming amount of WWII related programming.
