Anyone else watch Elizabeth I on HBO?

I understand this actually aired on "Channel 4" in the UK, but HBO picked it up. What a wonderful series, in my opinion.

I like period films, and the writing for this one was great. I like it when they focus more on individual personality rather than just the overal period itself.

Anyway, if you haven't watched it I believe you should.

It was pretty good ......... too bad they could not do a mini series on her whole reign ;)

Yeah, it was short, but they seemed to articulate her personality and the period quite nicely in only two episodes. They wrapped everything up nicely as well.

I'd like it if they would do a lot this for a lot of periods. I'd personally love to see them put forth an effort that focused on the literati of certain periods: Galileo, Descartes, Voltaire, Newton, etc. I'd also like to see attention to the arts: Beethoven and Mozart being the most obvious for music of the period, but I'd like to see emphasis on their contemporaries; Van Gogh, Monet, etc. also with an emphasis on their contemporaries.
