4.0 UC weighted GPA. 1430 SAT score. Letters and Science undeclared.

ouch. thats pretty good. surprised you didnt get into UCLA. did you take easy classes?

isnt 4.0 the maximum GPA you can use to apply on the UC application? even if you get a GPA of 4.5, your counted UC GPA is still 4.0 right? (im wondering)

PS. my cousin got into berkeley last year with a 1390 SAT, 4.0GPA. but also got rejected from UCLA. strange....:\

I have taken 4 Ap classes (my school doesn't offer that many)
Chem H, Physics H, US History AP, American Lit H, Bio AP, Pre Calc H, Calc AB AP, Econ AP, Japanese 4 H.
4 years of math, science, and foreign language.

awwww how cute. little wannabe freshman. just messing with you guys.

4 years ago i was in your guys' shoes. and 4 years ago, uc admissions were already funky. people would get into berkeley but not la, sd, or davis... go figure.

out of berkeley, la, and sd, i chose la. don't regret it too much. as im sure all of you know, uc's have only gotten harder to get in as the years passed. congrats to those who got in, and to those who didn't, well, life goes on. i'll be gone come fall, but hope you guys have fun. just remember, everybody in your future classes had 4.0+'s and they all think they're the sh!t. so get over it and do what you need to do there. i think berkeley's overrated btw.

Well, I think in reality more than 10,000 got acceptance letters.

43,000 applicants.
~24% acceptance rate = 10,320 accepted
~39% accepted students enroll = 4024, so the 3900 figure is close.

UCLA is a fun school. Great academics. Beautiful campus. It's one of my favorite schools in the country.

Even if you don't get in, DON'T worry!! Just get a marketable degree somewhere else. You'll do FINE regardless.

When you get a little older/wiser, you'll see that where you went to school has little, if anything, to do with your overall success. This whole college acceptance thing is completely overblown here in America. This admittance elitism stuff doesn't mean crap in Europe. Kids just go local and do great for themselves just the same. ;)

I'm now praying for an acceptance letter to Rice, CMU, or Vanderbilt now. It doesn't look good. Crap. :(
