anyone else tired of most of espn's articles being locked? what makes this even worse is that i subscribe to their magazine, pay for their television service, and now they want more of my money. its really irritaiting

its not just espn though, alot of websites are going this direction. another example is IGN. you have to pay to see some of the articles. and i could understand if the articles were maybe a bit better than their normal stuff, but they arent.

whoops just a sec

I'd be tired if I knew what I was supposed to be tired of....

😛

But don't you see. Thats what it is. Tired of people starting threads before they even finish the "thought" process.

Well, I do see both sides of the line. If you really like one source for info, you're given the option of subscribing. That's their choice to charge for their service. However, since I have the option of paying or not paying, I choose to not pay and choose to get my news elsewhere. 🙂 There will always be another place for news.

Well said. I used to visit IGN a lot more before they started doing that. Now I mostly just go there to check reviews or something.

yah, i dont' read espn anymore because of it.. and that might make me like what.. 2 minutes slow on the news since i read yahoo sports now.. it's probably just as good anyway.. except you don't have the special "analysts" or whatever they have on espn.. oh well

What I particularly enjoy is sites with unbelievably obnoxiours ads that claim they will remove the ads if you pay, but what they really mean is that they will remove the most obnoxious ones but sometimes leave the regular ones. OR they will time out your cookie frequently enough that you see obnoxious ads at least once a week.

actually there is a way to get free espn article, except text only. I posted about it in the forums. do a search in the archives.
