Anyone else think the Abit NV7-133R is calibrated vastly higher than others?

I have the Abit NV7-133R with an Athlon XP 1600+ (Palomino). I recently upgraded the heatsink from a Thermalright SK-7 to a Thermalright SLK-900A (via that nice SVC.com deal, $20 + $4.70 shipping). The problem is, my temperatures haven't improved much at all. I was using an 80mm fan with the SK-7 and now am using a 92mm fan with the SLK-900A. I would think that with the SK-7 alone should provide good temperatures of around 50C, but I was getting around 66C load. I'm still getting about 66C load and have not noticed a great decrease in sound levels. Normally, I wouldn't mind 66C temperatures, but the thing is I just got one of the best heatsinks on the market, I'm using relatively lower power processor than the 2500+'s (mine is a Palomino though), and I'm striving to take out other fans in an effort to lower the noise level. I used Arctic Silver 3 and have a dual fan power supply for case circulation. The only possible contributer for heat would be an IBM 60GXP and a TNT2, which should not have a lot of heat output at all. The reason I think that the motherboard is calibrated higher is that my Abit KR7A-Raid has a 1700+ (should have more heat output) and SLK-800 with significantly less airflow, but maintains temperatures of around 55C. I have the latest BIOS as well.

I used to have one of those boards, but I never got a CPU to run on it. I nuked my 1600+ on its first bootup. :( What other case fans do you have in the case? Please don't tell me that your PSU is the only exhaust! :Q

It is. I'm trying to attain some silence or near silence. My current system which should be outputting more heat is running on two fans, the CPU fan and the PSU fan. Both of them are very quiet NMB fans from that push very little air. I'm getting good temperatures around 55C load for the CPU.

I wish I could tell you a magic fix that would help temps without adding fans, but there isn't. :( Even a fan @ 7v will alleviate that oven. :Q
