Anyone else think the 60-70's Dodge A100 is a better VW Bus than VW?

My wife really likes these, I may build her a pink and white one next year.

6 cylinder to big block V8's are possible, enough do pull a wheelie down the track :)

They are a bit pricey $3000+ for those that still need work.

I am trying to find out if they are deathtraps like the bus in a front end collision though...this may kill the deal for her.

They're definitely rare these days. Not too many people held on to them. Especially the A100 trucks.

Midmounted V8? Check.
Wheelbase shorter than a 1969 Porsche 911? Check.
28' turning radius? Check.

Lets roll!

My dad had an A100 truck. That thing was bulletproof with the slant 6.

I love the old Dodge vans and trucks. I'm a Dodge truck supporter in general, so you get my vote for doing one up.

I've seen quite a few of those for sale around here lately. Very neat and wouldn't mind owning one but I can't see spending the $ for another project. (see sig/Z28)

My Dad had a 71 or 72 Bottler of this type. It was kinda under powered driving through the BC Mountains(had a 360 I believe Gas Engine, same as my Dad's Newport Custom) so it was 10-20mph going up. :D
