Anyone else think that having female friends for the most part is pointless?

maybe im just a shallow person or something, very rarely do i come across a female that i think is cool to have conversation with, and is just a cool person all around. For the most part i meet females who act like highschoolers, its wierd to talk to them, but they are hot. Honestly i dont care about a hot female whatsoever unless im getting action. Ya so anyways this topic was inspired because i've had 2 straight classes with this one chick, who liked me for a while, i just talk to her as a friend, but her chick friend is hot, anyways they ask me to hangout some times and it just baffles me. We have nothing in common, the conversation is so wierd/small talk. Im not even too sure why they have such an urge to talk to me or hangout with me, unless when they say hangout they mean a threesome, they can count me in, but i just cant understand why someone who has nothing in common with me would choose to wanna be around me, wouldnt they want friends that are similar to them?

they are probably insecure and want to use you to get up their self esteem.

or they actually want to be more the friends.

I have plenty of female friends, and two of them are probably some of my best friends. Guess it all just comes down to personality. You can't like everyone.
 
no, if you get on their good side, they'll set you up occasionally. Plus I find girls trust other girl's opinions more over which guys are creeps and which aren't.
 
Personally, I think that gender is irrelevant. I find that there are very few human beings that I actually enjoy spending time with enough to want to be friends with. Several of those in my life are female and several are male.
 
If you were excluding women from friendship altogether, I'd accuse you of being shallow but I have more male friends than female friends because I tend to find that guys make better friends in general, so I see your point (as long as you'd still be willing to be friends with a female if you found her engaging enough.)

So very true. What difference does it make if your friend is male or female? If you enjoy the company of both, then I see no problem.
 
Considering I married a female that I was friends with for years prior to dating, I'd have to disagree.

 
Of course not...female friends can be a refreshing vacation from male friends sometimes...most of mine are good looking women...and they know other good looking women. 😉

And of course, whenever you go out with a bunch of a hot girls in tow...the other women in the bar/club wonder what the deal is.
 
I have female friends.... then again I am a female. But really, I'd agree that I'm friends with people because of their personalities and characters- gender doesn't really enter into the equation.

I haven't had much luck with having female friends, since most of them eventually became interested in me romantically. These friendships were basically doomed at that point... the one that became my girlfriend for awhile stopped talking to me when we broke up, and the others got pissed and stopped talking to me when I decided not to date them.

I wish that I had some good female friends, too, since I get absolutely lousy relationship advice from my guy friends.
 
I have mostly female friends, and a few of them are lesbians at that. Sure, I've fallen for some of them but I've always been able to get over it. It's funny, i find my case to be the opposite - most of the guys I know are 26 but act 14 while my female friends are mostly mature and intelligent people.

Yeah... My guy friends are all in their late 20's now, but most of them still act like a bunch of frat boys.
