My friend brought up a good point during the movie. It has a shitload of similarities to Starcraft.

Poisonous gas=vespene gas
Unobtanium=minerals. They're even in deposits!
Marines=Terrans
Aliens=Protoss (minus all the technology)
Random Pandora creatures=zergs
Big tree home thing/spirit trees=Pylons

What the fuck is the matter? The other 96 threads on this subject are not good enough for the OP?

I disagree.
 
I haven't played much Starcraft, but when the humans were describing
the final
battle "objectives" (i.e.,
"get to the Tree of Souls" and "don't let the big plane get to the Tree of Souls"
), I muttered to my friend that it sounded like a Starcraft mission.

And yes, the Na'vi reminded me of Protoss.
