went to wal-fart with the fam yesterday, moved to the computer games to see if they had COD2, they did 59.00 bux for a dvd SE version....good lord..

The regular edition is still $49 isnt it ? I havent seen non-SE game prices that high yet. Well except the xbox360 pre-orders
 
I for one think it is totally fvcked up that they charge you like $10 extra for the DVD version of a game. I looked at CoD2 in Best Buy the other day and the regular cdrom version was 50 bucks but the DVD edition was 60! What a load of crap. Everything should be coming standard on DVD these days! XBox and PS2 Games all come on DVD's! Why do PC gamers have to pay extra to get their games on 1 DVD as opposed to 3, 4, 5 CD's!? It HAS to be cheaper to burn that game and package it on 1 DVD as opposed to multiple CD's so why are we charged extra!? Almost ALL new pc's these days come with at LEAST a DVD ROM/CD RW combo drive. . .and most come with DVD burner drives. ..Especially when you are talking about the caliber of a machine that will run today's current games. IT'S CRAP I TELL YOU! PURE UNADULTERATED CRAP!

well really a great deal of time and development goes into these games. to make a good games these days it's expensive.
 
there are so may games that i would by if they were not 50 bucks. i just bought worms 4 for 20 bucks and serious sam 2 for either 30 or 20. i forgot but it was not that expensive. i woul dbuy so many more games if they were 30 bucks instead of 50 or 60, i want to get age of empires 3 and call of duty 2 but i do not want to spend 50 each on them.

That's the problem, they are only good games, not GREAT games.
 
this is why being 6 months to a year behind the current gaming curve is sometimes a good thing 😀

most of the games i buy are in the bargain bin! last one i bought was KOTOR I and it was about 20 bucks.
