Anyone else think ATOT is much improved since about 2 weeks ago?

So I recently took some time away from ATOT, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to come back (there are many mean peoples here). But I was very surprised that things seem to have changed for the best and is now a friendly place where I can post safely.

I'll list some subtle changes I've noticed that I think are contributing to this improvement:

- Silly nested quotes have been reduced. This is great, those pesky things hurt my eyes every time I see them.

- No more bodily fluids threads. Thank god, those were disgusting and what if you're eating something while checking ATOT?

- No more posts advocating violence towards women. This may be the single most important change for the betterment of ATOT. I was so sick of these posts, every time I read one of them I'd think about my mom and the virgin Mary and die a little inside. It's so much better now I'm even thinking of inviting my mom to join ATOT!

- Cutting down on excess threads. I don't know how they achieved this but it used to be very difficult to post in ATOT. Accidentally hit the F5 key and bam! your favorite thread of the day is now buried in the third page. It was so confusing and distressing having to wade through tons of new threads popping out every minute. It is so laid back and relaxing now, I can pick a thread, think about my reply for a few hours and not worry about everyone moving on to something new.

There are a few other things that have changed that I can't remember right now, but basically, I'm so glad ATOT is turning into such a great place, keep the hard work

Moved from OT.

If the two most important women in your life are your mom and the virgin mary, then you REALLY, REALLY need to get off the internet and need to go get laid.

I'd like to make a thread about blood donation, but I'm afraid to bring up bodily fluids. Also I have a cold and coughed up some sputum, can anyone tell me if green or brown is a color to be concerned about or is that ban? What about the sweat I worked up tonight while chasing my wife around the neighborhood?

I'm just so confused these days.

A little common sense will go a long way.

If others want to be acting as idiots, the worst that can happen to you is the thread will get locked.
The best is that the perps will no longer be able to post until Turkey day.

Now if you wish to act like an idiot and search around for the grey area; we will be happy to assist you in entering the relaxation zone.

Which re-reading your post is what you are asking especially looking at your track record.

I'm confused. This started out as a sarcastic comment posted in OT.

Evidently, though, it was actually construed as constructive by perknose so he moved it to PFI.

So..... either perknose's sarcasm meter is broken, or sarcasm isn't allowed in OT anymore. If sarcasm isn't allowed any more, barfo has to add that list of things to be thankful for.

Are we allowed to nef in an OT thread that should be in OT but was accidentally moved to PFI?

Ravioli for teh win!

No, you may NOT nef in this thread now that it is in PFI. Doing so again may leave you open to sanction. Understood?

No, my meter is not broken. I have the finest meter in all the land. Sarcasm is STILL allowed in OT, but discussing forum policy is not, that is WHY we have PFI.

Again, understood? Good! Glad to clear that up for you.

I'd like to make a thread about blood donation, <-- nothing wrong with encouraging people to donate blood to the red cross!
but I'm afraid to bring up bodily fluids.<-- there is a lot wrong with bringing up bodily fluids in a manner that grosses out or is just plain idiotic or the intent is pure shock value!
Also I have a cold and coughed up some sputum, can anyone tell me if green or brown is a color to be concerned about or is that ban? <-- you should really go see a doctor igf you are that concerned about your health. As fine a site as this one is, it is NOT a medical site!
What about the sweat I worked up tonight while chasing my wife around the neighborhood?
Depends on if you both weere jogging and it turned out she was in better shape than you were!!
Actually a little not to common sense will go along way!!

I'm just so confused these days.

let me adress these issues...

I guess we need another sub-forum to float trial threads to see if the specific subject matter is allowed.

One can always create a legit vs an idiotic "look at me" type thread.

As stated above, the quality of the responses may be directly related to the immaturity of the perps that will post in the thread.

Really? Hell, 3/4's of the threads in OT are "Look @ me" threads... Some are pretty funny.

Where did this quote come from anyway?

A public meeting place, a Pub, if you will... A place for computer junkies to boldly post Off Topic... Things you might want to tell everyone... Or things you wouldn''t say to anyone else.

Yeah, I know, don't let the door hit me on the ass as I leave..............................

or, rewrite the description of OT to something like:

A public forum where the written rules are interpreted and reinterpreted on a daily basis, post at your own risk because the mods may have posted about fantasy violence themselves in the past, but now at our discretion, suggesting fantasy violence against people that splash ketsup on themselves and wrap themselves in giant meat packages is not allowed today.... Or things you'd discuss with your mother.
