Anyone else that can't stand eBay now?

I'm at that point.

I have some junk that I need to get rid of, but for the life of me I can't justify using eBay anymore. I have some unopened Blurays, an old Bluetooth Keyboard, Tablet Charging Dock, etc... Most are mere $10-20 items. Toss out $5-10 each for shipping charges because standard shipping these days is ridiculous. Toss out another $2-3 each for eBay fees, toss out another $2 each for PayPal fees. What am I left with? Wasted fucking time.

The last item I sold was a brand new Motorola 360 smart watch - I got it for free @ BestBuy as part of a promo for buying a new phone. I didn't even take the sticker off the touch-screen of it. I didn't use it... at all. I don't care for a smart watch. 2 Months after selling it on eBay I get a negative from the Buyer saying "Watch not new.. And it has some system problem"... Didn't email me, didn't ask me, did nothing. Just left a negative. Thanks douchebag.

With their new system you can't even attempt to defend yourself from douchebag buyers (and the buyers are hands-down the most likely to be douchebags over sellers). Sellers CAN NOT leave negative feedback on a buyer, only a buyer can leave negative on the seller. Who the hell thought this wasn't something that completely screws over sellers?

Screw it, I'd rather drop them off for a donation and take the damn tax write-off instead of getting peanuts after all the fees and hassle of packing/shipping/selling.

Back when they got hacked, you had to verify your account, but my contact info was obsolete. I would have had to contact them to get my account back. I didn't bother. I guess I was tired of them at that point. Lost my flawless feedback, but I don't have to deal with ebay. I think I'm doing pretty good.

Its been crap for a while.

So what do you guys do with crap around your house?

Also, I have a dead HP tablet that I don't know what to do with :( I don't want to sell it because it might have sensitive data. I feel like my only option at this point is to...destroy it :whiste:

Whatever it is, I've tried it (most likely). Running some random tool to revive it in a bootable Linux OS.... The end result is the same... It doesn't work for me.

My only guess is from the lack of using it the battery COMPLETELY drained and needs to be replaced.

I've been using Amazon more than eBay lately for that type of stuff. So far so good.
And you can reply to bad feedback, it's slightly better than nothing.

<3 Ebay, 2 months ago I got a new steam cleaner that's $300 everywhere else for $160 shipped. It takes more work than it use to that's for sure, but I find some WTF good deals on there still.

I use ebay all the time and have had no problems at all. Problem is why are you offering free shipping?

And, another I hate ebay thread.

Been frustrated with my last few Ebay purchases. Bought two items that were supposedly New and both packages were opened and 1 of the items didn't even work. Maybe I have a different understanding of what "New" means. Reached out to one to see what he would say (decide between leaving no feedback and negative) and not even going to give the other guy a chance to do anything. Going to leave negative feedback and will go through PayPal to get my money back. It's frustrating because I needed both sooner than later and paid a higher price and did a Buy it Now to get it sooner.

I've sold some stuff on ebay and did not get any problems (but this is very hit and miss, it depends if you get an ahole buyer or not), but I find it's just not worth it after you factor in all the fees and costs of shipping etc. I need to go through some of my stuff actually and sell it, but I will probably just stick to doing it locally, so much easier.

One thing too is Ebay needs to change the way shipping cost works, it should not be something that the seller has to set, it should actually be based on the distance, and the actual cost of shipping. Not sure how that could work though, maybe Ebay could setup it's own shipping service or something that just has deals with the major carriers. So you print the label and put it on the box and the shippers recognize it. I guess the logistics of doing this would be complicated especially for places that might only have small local couriers.

As a buyer I have decent luck with Ebay, usually buying cheap electronics stuff from Chinese sellers. You get half decent quality for ridiculously cheap and shipping is usually faster than Amazon and often free. Even shipping stuff from the states usually costs at least 20 bucks.

GLOBAL SHIPPING PROSCAM.

if you're unaware of it then you are american.

if you are you've bought something from america and weren't blindsided by it but were sure beat up with it.

A deadbeat 0-feedback non-paying bidder won my phone for $630, but it sold for $645 after I re-listed it.

Haven't used it to sell items for many many years, but we regularly use it to buy things and haven't had issues.
