Anyone else stressing out over work?

Nocturnal

Lifer
I'm a new supervisor at my company and I'm basically stressing out on my day off. For the past two weeks we have started to have evaluations. Basically to check if our money is right, inventory is correct, etc etc. But, the only thing is, the computer/server that keeps track of inventory is OFF! I am off by many phones and I don't understand it either. I'll get some tomrorow for that. Man, supervisor duties are stressful as hell!

no but i was bored today.. sitting reading atot is cool for like 30 minutes, then i get tire and sleepy unless i have work to do (which i prefer.. makes the day go by fast)

Yeah, Boss is on vacation, and the other in my group... well, I've had to deal with a bunch of administrative issues, and while I'm happy to do so, it is work. 😀

I've always said, middle management is NOT paid enough. Before I started my job in a machine shop, 25 years ago, the first thing I told them was, I don't want to get in a supervisory position. I avoided it for all those 25 years, too!

It will be the same for the next job. I may not make good money, but at least I'll save my health! Some people are great in those positions, but if you're not, RUN AWAY!!!!!!

VERY stressed lately. Link

My job is a state of perpetual "wait for someone else to do thier job before you can do yours" syndrome. I've been waiting since december for a simple perl module to be installed on our webervers so I can install a bunch of software I wrote that requires it.

Work is incredibly stressful. I got two chickens in the oven I gotta get out when they're done. Then I gotta wash and cut up zuccini and and boil some rice. Gonna have to wack some weeds again too.

Me, stressed? I sell doughnuts. If anyone gets pissy about a doughnut... Well, they can shove a long john up their doughnut hole (if you know what I mean). But, sometimes class can stress me out.

You won't! Or, I won't, anyway. Management is NOT for everybody. I might be able to handle the "management" of running my own business (me being the sole employee), but I couldn't take being in charge of other people. I'd rather do things myself, than delegate. I'll tell you one thing. Nobody appreciates a good employee more than I do. If I do give somebody a job to do, and they do it as well and quickly as I would, they rock! Those are the guys you want to be well compensated, as well as those poor managers!
