anyone else sticking with a nf2/socket a config the rest of the year?

I think I am going to try like hell.
my buddy is having quirky problems with his nf4/64 rig.
i hope this rig will suffice for AOE III.if it does that, nothing else matters.

ill most likely be sticking with it for longer then that, unless i win some moneys and can afford to build a dual opteron worksttion before that

my oced 2400+ does fine with HL2

i need a new vid card more then a new CPU

i just bought a nf2 board with socketA sempron for my wife's machine. works great.

thats what im running on main right now.
sempron 2600+,1gb kingston nilla 2700....buttery smooth.
i think i am going to try and space my upgrades out to a 12 month maybe 18 month cycle.there doesnt seem to be any tangible benefit in anything faster(for my uses) atm.

My NF2 and overclocked Barton is still doing what I need it to. Unless some irresistible upgrade opportunity presents itself I'll be sticking with it.

Try? I'm not even trying and I'm on my 3rd year w/ the nf2. Every upgrade is a waste of money. Glad I'm not one of those people who has to play every game at seven eleven billion frames/sec.

im happy at 10x7 high detail no aa for the vast majority of games.
the 5700 i have currently will be upgraded, but its probably the only thing.

yea.....

i really want to upgrade but im saving money for a house.

that and the fact that there really isnt any new exciting technology out.
im waiting till the iron out SLI and intel comes out with some dual cores.... then well see whats goin on 🙂

Meh. I'm still happy with my KT333 rig OC'ing a 2100 at 2700 (at 166 FSB). Only reason I might upgrade is to upgrade my HTPC rig, which could use it. If I do that, I'll probably swap components around so the best is in my main rig.
Otherwise, I got bored with always trying to run the biggest and baddest some years ago. As long as I can run what I want to run and don't see any performance issues, it's all good. PC hardware is so fast these days it's almost pointless, unless you're into benchmarking.

I have 5 Socket A rigs that are still running strong.
They handle just about anything I throw at them.
I plan to keep my Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ w/6800 for at least another 2 years.

No sh!t, it sounds like the OP upgrades as often as he changes his underwear.. wtf?

I used a PII400 for 6.5 years till last may when I got my current XP Barton 2500+.. Why the hell would I upgrade again...

I guess if I had my mommies credit card.....

I have P4 2.4 and I am about to switch to a NF2 and mobile. Why? I know I'll get a great machine with a good overclock that will save me $100 or so. Then when the dust settles, this fall I'll put myself together a nice 939. There is just too many ifs going on right now. I also want to see how Intel's dual cores pan out.
