Anyone else starting to warm up to the new BMW 7 Series?

I used to think they were atrocious particularly after the beauty of the previous 7 series...but at work we just got in 8 760lis with the protection package, jet black, limo tint, with 18 inch wheels and I must say they are damn fine looking cars and those suckers can MOOOOOVEEEE. I could live without the stupid I-Drive however, that thing is an accident waiting for a happening. The rear is a little out of place, but not as bad as I first thought.

EDIT: BTW just to fuel the domestic/Import war. These cars will be replacing 2001 and 2002 cadillacs and Lincoln Town Cars. There is NO COMPARISON Between the BMW's and the old cars. Light years ahead in all categories (of course the price was quite a bit more as well).

I think it definitely looks better in darker colors (especially black), but I'm still not a huge fan...I just dont' like the back...at least on the 7 Series. I know the back is similar on the new 5 Series...but I don't mind it on that one. I really, really did the new 5 Series...especially because I thought they were going to screw it up so badly.

I'm sure those 760s can move though...great peices of engineering.

It's pretty much a fact that BMW will be doing a major facelift of the 7-series for the next model year, something they've never done before. While the new 7 had strong sales its first year, sales are down for this year while MB S-class sales are up. The new 7 has also been an embarassment for them, especially in Europe where sales have been nill! As for me personally, some aspects grew on me, but I still can't handle the rear-end. It's just nasty! I still don't really care of iDrive either, though people are saying that iDrive 2.0 (found in the new 5-series) is a big improvement.

And as for the Z4 and new 5-series, I think they're awesome. I think the new 6 will be a flop, though.

Nope, don't like it. Our CEO drives a black 745 and I see it every day. It definitely looks expensive and "imposing" but the odd styling details have never grown on me (specifically, the headlights and rear end).

I'm glad a refresh is coming, and I hope it makes the car look a lot better.

I loved them just because they have enough leg room for tall people. Of course they're like 2x as much as I"d like to pay for a car 😀

will you be able to build a great car and get people to signup for waiting list if I give you $70 grand ? 😀 😛

Someday, when I can afford to SMELL a 7-series as it drives by, I'll let you know how I like it.

Until then, I just drool all over the pages of the latest Motor Trend and Car & Driver mags. 😛
