if you start now you'll get there in about 8 hours, so round trip that takes 16hrs. if you work 8 hrs, that's 24. i'm afraid you'll have to get your eight hours sleep at work.

OK I guess I will go take the bus. OH wait that right there is NO bus service where I live.

Guess I will hail a cab. OH wait thats right there is one cab service but it would cost me more for a cab then it would if I used my car.

I guess I will take my kids to the zoo this weekend. OH wait I cant because I used the zoo money to get to work this week.

I guess my kids will have to live on PB&J because they just raised the gas and my commute is 50 miles each way. Most of the money is being used for the hike and my utilities costing me more and hell the price of food just went up too so now I cant afford the PB&J and can only afford the bread.

Gotta love the land of the free when you cant afford to go check it out :D

Here is my take:

I live about 15 miles from work, straight interstate distance, if I have to use side streets, it would be 20 miles or more.

I live in the surb, so no bus/train/subway/etc whatsoever. Plus I work the nightshift and they don't open 24 hrs.

No co worker is living nearby so no go on carpool and I work in the nightshift.

I do whatever I can to save gas but I don't moan and bitch and especially I don't make another thread about gas price or about people complaining about gas price.

This is the first time I've found out that the pumps actually have a $$ limit. Filled up a couple weeks ago and the pump stopped at $60, on the dot, and wouldn't let me put anymore gas in the tank (tank was pretty much empty, and I'd only put 17.2 gallons in an 18.5 gallon tank).

Yeah, I have to use premium (doesn't bother me one bit), but wtf on the $$ limit?

To help limit the ammount stolen via credit card fraud.
Gas pumps have no real way of verifying who is using the card that is inserted, so they limit the ammount that can be purchased in one transaction.

It's called pins and zip codes. Now they're limiting how much gas I can purchase? That's assinine.

You guys need to stop the complaining and start thinking of ways to NOT complain! **LMAO**

All of you hate the high gas prices. Even if you drive a 30+MPG car it's rough, but you get along.

Then again, if you drive a huge SUV I'm glad you pay what you pay to fill up. If you think of trading that huge thing in for something smaller, they are going to laugh you off the lot.
It would be like trading your penny for thier quarter!

All I'm saying is that whoever bought a new LARGE SUV in the past year or so......... Talk about depreciation. You thought you were getting a deal. OUCH!

I don't care about the money aspect but ALOT of people talk about depreciation and it's always considered slighty when buying a new vehicle. Most here won't admit it though.
