Anyone else seen the C0000218 error in XP

I have gotten this error on restart at least six times. When I get it, I cannot get back into Windows XP and have to reload or use Ghost image. The error comes up after the XP boot screen:

STOP: C0000218 (Registry File Failure)
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

MS site says this is a reported problem in NT 3.51, but not reproduceable. I found one other person with this problem, but it is certainly a bug for me.

Yeah, I read that thread and apparently a number of people have this problem and it is not just with XP. It doesn't seem to have a good solution but some believe it is related to the ACPI settings. I work around it by using Ghost frequently.
