it's on TV right now. pretty funky. a retaining wall came down and has completely blocked about a 150 foot stretch of road on Henry Hudson Parkway right next to the George Washington Bridge.

traffic in and out of NY this weekend is going to be HORRIBLE.

That's the bridge that amtrack and NJ Transit use to get into NY, NY from NJ.

Just starting looking at the coverage. I wonder if any cars are trapped under the rubble.

Don't even think about it. My worst commute in NYC was going 20 miles in 5 hours, a bridge section separated. Best advise is to totally avoid that area.

GWB is already the worst traffic jam in NY. This should make commute a night mare for people returning home to Jersey.

Wow, that's terrible.
And to think, I was almost going to go into the city on that road.

Ya know, everytime I travel across the Manhattan Bridge, I feel like it's going to fall at any minute...

It's probably going to be a traffic nightmare through the weekend, I'm guessing. A lot of GW traffic will shift to the tunnels and local street traffic is going to increase markedly on the west side. Now just imagine if the West Side Stadium had already been built. :p

EDIT: Yikes. Just read that there my be some cars under there. Hope no one was trapped in there and it was just parked cars.
