Anyone Else Required to Suffer through the Torture that is the Year End Review?

this is my first time running through one of these things. I was hired at the end of November last year, so the first time year-end reviews came around, I hadn't been here long enough to be subjected to the torture. before the actual review, though, we need to fill out a self review :Q

I mean, how do you evaluate your skills without sounding boastful? I rock at my job, but when I'm rating my skills on a 1-5 scale, it doesn't seem right to just draw a five down the column. heh.

and how could I be better utilized? wtf. I'm being utilized just fine, thank you.

Wow, that sucks. I have a year end review here at work, but luckily they don't make me review myself. That's pretty lame and as long as you are a decent worker, doesn't seem like it would help much at all. It might help someone who is doing something wrong or generally sucks at their job, I guess... They would see what the company is looking for in them, and possibly improve. But for the most part that crap is prett lame.

Just rate everything about you as 4/5 or 5/5.

Ours is in January and we fill out the "survey" and our supervisor approves it. Raises come in July.

This year will be fun. I learned absolutely nothing, etc.... Not my fault though.
