I was going to post this in FS/FT since it seemed more relevant to the posters there, but it seemed rather off topic...maybe it can be moved if it's determined to be more pertinent than I gathered.
Anyways, I got the short form notice in the mail on a post-card today.
It gave a link to this website (which has various information on the matter).
http://www.noticeclass.com/EVICLitigation/
According to how they defined class, I am a member (As far as I can tell, except for the named exceptions in the notice, it's anyone who has sent something via UPS and paid for additional insurance to go beyond the $100 that is covered. I've paid this for plenty of hard drives, motherboards, etc that I've sent out or RMAd).
I'm trying to figure out if I should send a letter to exclude myself.
I can't see what the defendants could hope to claim, but it would suck if I had to end up paying something to UPS if I remained a member of the class.
Any thoughts? Any other recipients of a notice long or short?
