I got 13 days left to use so starting 12/12 I'm done for the year. No carryovers. Started with 26 days, went on 1 big vacation for the year and half days throughout for my kids' school. I telecommute so taking days off wasn't really necessary unless I'm actually going away. Same every year - I wish they allowed carryovers - I'd have many weeks to use.

I get three days off at xmas, five if you include the weekend. No way I was going to work Christmas eve from 1-9pm. Would rather use up my floater holiday than be there bored shitless. Nobody's going to be out on the roads anyway. :p

I still have 2 weeks left of vacation (get 5 weeks total per year). Thinking I might take a week next week.

I work all around Christmas but managed to get Christmas and Boxing day off. We're a 24/7 operation (NOC) so there will be someone in those days. I'm off for like 6 days starting Wednesday though. Beauty of shift work, random vacations that arn't actually using up vacation time. I had a stretch of 7 days not too long ago too.

I have one week of vacation off and I'll be taking it in January. Actually going to work out nicely since I'm off the schedule before and after so it will be more like 2 weeks.

Even when I did not work shift work I'd always work around Christmas. Those are weeks that are impossible to get since it's the more senior people who get them first. I actually prefer taking a week or so after Christmas anyway. Christmas time is dead so sure I'm stuck at work, but not much is going on.

I'm close. Taking this Wed off until next Wed, then come back for a couple days til Friday and then off for the rest of the year. Don't expect to get much done when I'm back next week for a couple days tho.

I should get the 24th and 31 "off" as "work at home" days... Asked my supervisor if it's okay considering everyone else will probably be off, I can get more work done at home, and my commute is 3-4 hours. The 27 and 28 are going to be the bitches though.

Off starting the weekend before Christmas.

I've not yet had to use it, but we can carry over up to 200 hours of vacation year to year. :)

Reminds me of my first year idiocy... I let 3 days of vacation disappear because they couldn't be carried over and I had nothing to do. Holy crap how my mind has changed in 2 years.

My last day for the year will be the 21st. :)

this

I wouldn't want to take more than 2 weeks in a row off. After a certain point a company will learn how to get along without you... and once they figure out how they might just do that

No, I take my vacation time when the weather is better and the days are longer. Besides, in my job this time of the year is the slowest. I can pretty much wander in late, kill time and leave early since there's no little to do.

The 21st was supposed to be my last day of the year. Last week, my coworker quit. There goes my vacation.
