Anyone else of the same mentality towards Moto?

Well, for the past year I had a Motorola v557, and I didn't really mind it, a month in to using it, I had it replaced because A) it got horrible signal B) it was next to impossible trying to get it to charge. Once i got it to charge, I'd have about a day of battery at most, before I'd start beeping at me telling me the battery was almost dead. So I got the replacement and it all seemed exactly the same... so I did some research and found out that it was a problem with most all the phones of my model, not just mine.

Also, My dad bought the razr about the same time as I bought my phone... He's had 3 different ones so far, one the keypad died, another the screen started to flicker, and now he's on his 3rd.

Some of my friends have had similar problems with the razr and slvr.

I just recently got a new phone... the Samsung t509 (t-mobile phone, but i'm on cingular) and I didn't realize what I was going through with that v557... the Samsung is so much better... the interface is very similar to that of a motorola, but samsung improved it with making some things easier, it's also much faster the the moto while navigating through the menus. The call quality is about the same as the v557, maybe a little better. The one thing I've noticed is that you can actually hear a conversation when there is a lot of background noise... my moto you couldn't adjust the speaker volume and at times it was darn near impossible to hear what people were saying. I also am getting a little over 4 days of battery on this phone, which is amazing compared to my moto...

After experiencing a non-motorola phone, I can't imagine that I'll ever consider purchasing a moto phone again. I guess it's really the hype behind moto that made me purchase one in the first place...

Anyone else feel the same way? That motorolas are semi-crap?

I've also had a razr for a year and it's been a relatively pleasant experience. My brother originally gave it to me because he kept complaining about poor battery life and he said he couldn't ever hear anybody on it. Sure I have to charge it pretty much every night (depending on how much i used it that day) but that doesn't bother me too much. Also I've had no issues with the volume. My brother has since moved onto the Rokr, which he seemed to like for a while, but then he had more issues with it and spilled some water on it or something. Now he has a SLVR that he seems to be happy with.

My roomate has a slvr and he's always complaining about poor reception. I think it's just user error on his part, because he has never had a pleasant cell phone experience.

I still look back at my Nokia 8260 with the fondest of memories. I'd only charge that thing up once every two weeks.

My other roomate has some Samsung model that kind of acts like a switchblade. That's the worst phone i've ever seen in my life. Not to mention the navigation and stuff just looks terrible. That's probably the only samsung phone i've ever seen, and just that alone makes me never want a samsung phone. I would like my next phone purchase to be a nokia model that competes with something like the slvr.

I am in the same boat. I had two older motorola models and they both blew. Connections dropped, batteries would die, the whole phone would lag and then speed up some time afterwards. It drove me nuts.
