Go buy yourself a VW Golf V6 and note how it says it has just over 200HP right? then either go to tune it up(buy an Exaust or something HP enhancing) or just go to your home garage and look at it, note now how it now only has 140 something HP. Which really pisses me off sine i love the Golf's and was looking forward to tuning up a V6, but doing it when it starts 60HP behind what it is supposed to is totaly useless.

In my copy of GT2 on PS1 the main problem I have is cars that have more HP than rated when you buy them. It sucks when you spend $500,000 on a car for a particular race because it says 270hp then come to find out it really has 470 hp. I also can't put new wheels on my BMW 328. It will not let me in the wheel shop. I did not notice the problem with the Golf though. I will look next time I play.

I have had this problem but its not really a problem, what i noticed is that if you have the parts for a car(say you once had a mazda RX-7 totaly upgraded then sold it, it doesnt sell the parts) Theny ou buy another one it will automatically equip any parts you may have for it, and some parts will work on differnt models so say you had a 2nd gen RX-7 some parts might fit on thw new models, its kinda wierd, to fix it just go to the menu and unequip all the performance parts. That should work, oh and BTW i tried buying a BMW 328 and i couldnt change thw wheels either.

The hp you see when you buy a car is the official figure. When you go tune the car yourself, it's the ACTUAL hp. And yes, they are different.
